Style Inspiration: Natalie Portman
I have been a long time fan of Natalie Portman. Everything she does, somehow makes me smile and love her even more. Vanity Fair even compared her to Audrey Hepburn not too long ago. Her beauty and grace are captivating, and I love that she dresses so well for her petite frame (though I'm not quite as teeny tiny as she is, I certainly can relate to the struggle of dressing someone under 5'2). In working to create new pieces, I find inspiration in a variety of ways: sometimes that's going on a quiet walk in the mountains and sometimes it's flipping the pages of a glossy mag and seeing what my favorite style icons have had their eyes on. Right now, I'm feeling super inspired by Natalie's uber polished and timeless style.
Red Carpet Style
I'm a big fan of classic silhouettes in solid hues, and from the looks of it, so is Natalie Portman. I'm not sure how it's possible, but it seems that every gown this woman puts her body makes her look just flawless.
Natalie's everyday uniform = my everyday uniform. Can't go wrong with denim, a crisp white tee, and sneaks.
Though I'm nowhere near having a bebe, I have two sisters who are going to pop any day now so my eyes have definitely opened to the struggle of "dressing the bump." Natalie does it with such ease.
Natalie's jewelry is always about balance. Wearing statement earrings? Go with a naked neck. Wearing a bomb necklace? Go subtle on the ears. Bracelets? Only one at a time, but make it sparkle. She knows how to pair her jewels so that nothing is overshadowed or lost within the outfit as a whole.
MFF Picks for Natalie's Next Event
From my extensive research (read: stalking) of Natalie's looks, her jewelry choices are more often than not understated and classic. She sometimes goes for a statement necklace, but typically goes naked neck with stunner earrings. So, here are my picks should she ever request some MFF jewels (swoon)...
