April's 5 Happy Things

Well, that didn't last long! Guys, I'm so sorry I haven't been good about keeping up with my 5 Things posts! In any light, though I'm several weeks late, and it's almost time for May's 5 Things, here are 5 Things that are making me happy RIGHT NOW in April...

1. This week I'm headed to the beach to see my momma!

My parents have been doing some renovations on their beach house down in Seagrove, FL (pictured above; also the setting of the FW16 photoshoot), on Highway 30A, and my mom asked if I would come help her to put everything back together again now that the reno is over. I haven't seen my parents since Christmas (save for a brief moment in the airport a month ago) so I'm very excited to get some quality time in with them. My dad should be arriving for dinner Thursday night so I'll squeeze in two meals with him before I head home Friday morning - just the refuel I need to start May off on the right foot next week! (PS - all orders placed tomorrow through Friday will be shipped out first thing Monday!) (Pps - if you're interested in renting my parents' beach house, get in touch! They rent it out all year long and just added a bunk room - super family friendly!)

Hobbs and I checked this place out the second day they opened, and let me tell you, we will be back - time and time again... Brewery Bhavana is the brainchild of the same chef at Bida Manda, the best restaurant in the state of North Carolina (Promise I didn't make this up; I read it here). The concept is insane - a brewery + book store + flower shop + dim sum restaurant. Yeah, you read that right. It's all those things wrapped up into one. Add a super sleek space with a skylight right in the heart of downtown Raleigh, and you've hit the jackpot. Oh wait, no, add in the amazing melt-in-your-melt-but-still-totally-affordable food and delicious beer and you've hit the jackpot. so.damn.good. If you're ever in Raleigh - GO.

3. Being an Aunt gets better and better.

I know I've touched on this a lot lately, but it's just my season of life right now! Both of my sisters had beautiful healthy baby boys 4 days apart from each other back in March, and several weeks ago I got to spend a week with one of my sisters and her husband, their new baby boy, and their two year old, Thea. You probably saw a million Instagram stories of the two children, and just now my sister texted me to tell me that Thea was currently "talking" to me on her play phone. That girl is the best. It's such a joy to watch these children grow up, and such a cool feeling to know that I get to watch them grow up for the rest of my life. Feeling extra blessed in the family department these days.

4. Studs are now available as SINGLES!

YES! Yall have been asking for a while, and it's finally a reality! Whether you like to mix n match your studs or just wear one at a time - now you can! Climbers can also be purchased as singles. Because sometimes you only need one ear to make a statement, right? These are some of my current stud faves....

5. NEW things are coming!

If you've ever done something custom with me, you know it takes about 3-4 weeks for turnaround. Well, about 3 weeks ago, I spent all day errrday at the bench designing and producing new designs. Many of these new designs are complements to some of our existing designs, and some are brand new forms and shapes. I'm expecting them in the mail today, so fingers crossed I can have them photographed and loaded on the site by next week! Yall, I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am for all the new new! Esp more ear climbers... alright, I've already said too much...

Welp, guess I'll be seeing yall again in about a week for May's 5 Happy Things! Ha, but I do have a few fun posts lined up to come out before then so be sure to check back. Thanks for keeping up with the blog.

As always, Happy Everything, Friends,
Mary Frances
